BC Cancer Agency Leadership
Updated: October 22, 2009
The BC Cancer Agency - a provincial government-funded treatment and research organization - is an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). The PHSA is responsible for governing, managing and funding the BC Cancer Agency, along with seven other provincially mandated health care agencies.
The PHSA – one of six health authorities in British Columbia – is mandated to ensure the planning, coordination, accessibility, quality, efficiency and effectiveness of selected province-wide health care programs and services. It is the overall governing body of the BC Cancer Agency.
Within the BC Cancer Agency, the organization is led by the Agency Executive Team, comprised of senior staff with leadership positions in the Agency.
Each of the five centres has a Leadership Team that is responsible for that centre. As well, there are provincial program teams made up of representatives of the programs from across the province.
