02/13: Screening Mammography Bookings
BC Cancer Agency implements contingency plans in response to Vancouver fire/explosion
The BC Cancer Agency’s Screening Mammography Program office is located in the Vancouver building at 686 West Broadway which was affected by a fire and explosion earlier today.
As a result, operations at the program’s Central Booking Office have been impacted and the program is temporarily unable to book appointments.
To address this issue, we have implemented the following measures:
• Women who wish to book an appointment are asked to leave a name and phone number either at 1.800.663.9203 or smp-bc@bccancer.bc.ca. • The Central Booking office will return calls and emails to book appointments as soon as possible. • We have posted this information on our website: www.smpbc.ca
We thank the public for your patience and will work to minimize any delays.
The BC Cancer Agency, an Agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority, is committed to reducing the incidence of cancer, reducing the mortality from cancer, and improving the quality of life of those living with cancer. It provides a comprehensive cancer control program for the people of British Columbia by working with community partners to deliver a range of oncology services, including prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, research, education, supportive care, rehabilitation and palliative care. The BC Cancer Foundation raises funds to support research and enhancements to patient care at the BC Cancer Agency.
