Systemic Management of Prostate Cancer

Reviewed July 2005

Patients are appropriate candidates for androgen withdrawal therapy if they have metastatic disease or locally advanced tumours not considered curable by radical radiotherapy alone. Neoadjuvant therapy may be indicated prior to planned radiotherapy but is not recommended routinely outside of clinical trials prior to radical prostatectomy.
