Serum is required for most assays. In some cases, plasma is also acceptable (see individual assay information below).

Volume requirements vary but for most assays, 1.0 ml is adequate. Mail serum only (not whole blood), do not freeze or ship on ice unless requested to do so. If the sample is to be shipped within 24 hours of collection, store at refrigeration temperature (2-8°C), if shipping will be delayed by more than 24 hours store frozen at -20°C but ship without ice unless requested.
