Dosage Modification for Myelosuppression Effective date: Sept. 1/94

Dosage Modification for Myelosuppression

Adjust dosage according to the protocol by which the patient is being treated.

If no guidelines available, modify dosage as follows:

(x 109/L)
ABSOLUTE NEUTROPHIL (ANC)*
(x 109/L)

* ANC = WBC x (% polys + % stabs)

** 0% Indicates treatment should be postponed a week until the counts return to a level at which drugs may be given.

Example: For an absolute neutrophil count of 1.3 x 109L and a platelet count of 135 x 109L, 50% dose of the total dose of all chemotherapy drugs should be given. This is 50% of the previously determined 100% dose, not of the previously given dose.
