Family Practice Oncology Network

Doctor with cellphoneThe Family Practice Oncology Network exists to provide more comprehensive support for family physicians caring for cancer patients including the development of useful resources and tools. To date these include:

  • a Preceptor Program to strengthen oncology skills, build valuable contacts and confidence;
  • cancer care guidelines  customized to the needs of family physicians - view our recently published guideline on the palliative approach to care;
  • CME opportunities both online and in-person;
  • a twice yearly Newsletter; and
  • research and evaluation projects to increase the Network's effectiveness over time.

Every family physician in BC is welcome to take part in our initiatives.

Helping family physicians build useful contacts in the oncology community is another key Network objective. Key individuals are listed throughout this site. You can also find key cancer care contacts throughout BC at the Community Services section of the Communities Oncology Network web pages.
