PET/CT scanning done at the BC Cancer Agency is currently performed under two different Clinical Trial Agreements with Health Canada. One clinical trial investigates PET/CT scanning in adults while the other investigates PET/CT scanning in children. In addition to having added a second clinical PET/CT scanner to operations in July 2011, the facility also recently expanded its adult clinical scanning indications. This expansion will improve access to PET/CT imaging through approval of a much wider range of oncologic scanning indications.
