Worldwide, infections are known to cause a relatively small percentage of cancers. In Canada, that number is probably smaller yet. However, where a link between a viral, bacterial, or parasitical agent and cancer is known, you can take steps to protect yourself.

For instance, there is now a vaccine that protects young women from cervical cancer. To find out more about this Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, follow the link or talk to your doctor.
