May Wong, BSc

May completed her BSc in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of British Columbia in 2003. She initially joined the BC Cancer Agency in 2006 and worked on an early detection project for pancreatic, ovarian, and prostate cancers.

Her current research project in Dr. Sylvia Ng’s laboratory investigates how antiangiogenic therapies alter the tumor microenvironment and may be combined with chemotherapeutic agents in a schedule “smart” fashion for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. The project encompasses molecular, histological, and non-invasive imaging techniques to examine tumor vasculature and hypoxia.
