  • British Columbia Pancreatic Cancer Research Net – A pancreatic cancer-specific research program focused on the development of more effective diagnostic and treatment strategies
  • Cancer Endocrinology* - Finding new treatments for endocrine-related cancers, such as prostate cancer
  • Cancer Control Research* - Working to understand the risk factors of cancer and developing cancer prevention strategies
  • Genetics unit* (Centre for Integrated Genomics) - A specialty lab for identifying genomic changes and the signalling and metabolic pathways associated with tumour development
  • Imaging* - Focusing on developing new technology for early detection and localization of cancer and pre-cancerous lesions
  • Canada's Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre** - Our country's first high-throughput gene sequencing centre dedicated to cancer research and the only one directly linked to a cancer treatment and research organization - the BC Cancer Agency
  • Centre for Lymphoid Cancer - A multi-disciplinary research program focused on the development of new treatments and diagnostics for lymphoid cancers (lymphoma, myeloma and leukemia)
  • Complementary Medicine Education and Outcomes (CAMEO) Program - Evaluating the impact of evidence-based education and decision support related to complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) for people living with cancer as well as cancer health professionals
  • Cross Cultural Palliative Care NET - A New and Emerging Team (NET) for equitable and quality cancer care for culturally diverse populations. NET researchers are from the University of BC in Vancouver, the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Cancer Care Nova Scotia, and the BC Cancer Agency
  • The Deeley Research Centre* - Based in Victoria. Studying how the immune system responds to cancer and how to best enhance this response for preventive and therapeutic purposes. The DRC also houses the Tumour Tissue Repository, which provides BC Cancer Agency researchers with essential patient specimens for basic and clinical studies
  • Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OvCaRe) - A multidisciplinary research program involving clinicians and research scientists in gynecology, pathology, and medical oncology. The team is considered a leader in ovarian cancer research, breaking new ground in better identifying, understanding, and treating this disease.
  • Radiation Biology Unit* - Making inroads into understanding cancer biology and the practical aspects of radiotherapy and related treatments
  • PREDICT - Developed at the BC Cancer Agency's Vancouver Island Centre to engage all staff and all new cancer patients in the process of research to improve care
  • Survivorship Research Centre (SRC) - Co-ordinates research under the BC Cancer Agency's Cancer Rehabilitation Program. Research foci include psychosocial oncology, palliative care, oncology nutrition and population health
  • Terry Fox Laboratory* - Encompasses a wide spectrum of disciplines in biomedicine and the life sciences where the current emphasis is on the development of new technologies that will answer the fundamental questions about the control of cell growth and differentiation, aging and gene regulation
