Emergency Aid Drug Program

The BC Cancer Agency (BCCA) and the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) together provide the Emergency Aid Drug Program (EADP).  The purpose of the EADP is to assist patients who are receiving care prescribed by an oncology physician in British Columbia and who require assistance to purchase supportive care medications related to that care.  Access to the EADP is managed under specific criteria.  Medications included in the EADP supportive care benefit list are determined by the BCCA.  Access to medications on this list are subject to final approval by the BCCA. British Columbia health care professionals may refer patients to the nearest office of the CCS in their area for financial needs assessment.  Please note that a minimum of one week is required before benefits may be available to qualifying patients.  For additional information regarding the benefit list of supportive care medications and the processes by which they may be obtained, please refer to the items contained within this website.
