1. Where is the centre located?

The main site is located at 13750 96th Avenue (northeast corner of the Surrey Memorial Hospital) in Surrey, British Columbia.
The FVC North Clinic is in the modular building exactly opposite the main site, on 96th Avenue and 137BSt.

2. Where can I park?

Parking on-site:

  • Fraser Valley Centre parking lot on the corner of 138th Street and 96th Avenue
  • Surrey Memorial Hospital north parkade, which is by the main entrance on 96th Avenue
  • Surrey Memorial Hospital south parkade, which is at 138th St and 94A

A parking attendant is on duty throughout the day in these lots. It is $4 for the first hour and $3.50 for subsequent hours to a daily maximum of $11 (prices subject to change without prior notice).

Parking Passes  at discounted rates are available for patients receiving treatment at the centre. Please contact the Administration Office at 604.930.4022 for further information.

Parking around the hospital:

  • City of Surrey metered parking along 138th street is available. These meters are closely monitored and related parking fines should be referred to the City of Surrey at 604.331.7129
  • Rotary Club Parking lot across SMH on 96th & 138th St. Related issues should be referred to them at 778-772-2277

3. What other transport can I take to get to the centre?

The centre is easily accessible via Translink; please call 604.953.3333 for route information or visit the Translink website.

The Canadian Cancer Society manages a Volunteer Driver program for patients who do not have access to transportation. Please consult their Support/Services for the Fraser Valley to book your ride.

People with physical or cognitive disabilities who are unable to use public transit without assistance can call for the HandyDART service.

4. Where can I eat in or near the centre?

Fraser Valley Centre is connected to Surrey Memorial Hospital which houses a cafeteria (north building), Kidz Cafe (main lobby, south building) and a coffee stop (main lobby, north building). The centre is also very close to Tim Hortons, Dairy Queen, Knight & Day, Swiss Chalet and other restaurants.

5. Is there a bank machine located in the centre?

Fraser Valley Centre is connected to Surrey Memorial Hospital which houses 2 bank machines, one in the SMH Cafeteria (North building) and the other in the SMH North Lobby (main entrance).

6. How can I find out about job opportunities at the centre?

7. How can I find out about volunteering at the centre?

The Fraser Valley Centre is proud of its Volunteer Program; please refer to the Volunteers page.

8. Who should I contact to change an appointment?

Please contact our Appointment Desk at 604.930.4001.

9. Does the centre provide interpretation services?

Interpreting services are provided through the Fraser Health Authority in most languages. Please request an Interpreter when you confirm your appointment.

11. Can I still come to the centre to receive treatment or to support a friend/ family member if I don't feel well?

The wellness of our patients and staff is extremely important to us. Please review our Health and Safety information for guidance on what to do if you do not feel well.

12. What are the centre's opening hours?

  • Administration: 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday
  • Chemotherapy: 7.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday, Saturdays and Statutory holidays*
  • Radiation Therapy: 8am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday

* these timings may fluctuate depending on workload.

13. If I have a general question about my treatment and symptoms who should I contact?

Please contact the Nursing Telephone Line at 604.930.4039.

14. If I have an urgent health concern who should I contact?

  • 8am-430pm: main switchboard number 604.930.2098 or toll-free 1.800.523.2885 (in B.C.)
  • after 4:30pm or on weekends and statutory holidays: For emergencies relating to on-going treatment or if you are a physician requesting emergency oncology consultation, please call the SMH Switchboard at 604.581.2211 and ask for the Radiation or Medical Oncologist on call. If you are a patient, provide your BCCA patient ID number and the name of your treating oncologist to the operator.
  • In an emergency always call 911

15. How can I donate money to support the centre?

The BC Cancer Foundation is the fund raising arm of the BC Cancer Agency and enlists financial support from caring individuals and organizations to support research and enhancements to cancer care for all British Columbians. Please contact Patient & Family Counselling Services at 604.930.4000.

19. What is the Locally Advanced Breast Cancer Clinic or LABC?

This newly established service at the FVC sees patients living in the Fraser Health region, who have locally advanced breast cancer. Family physicians can refer patients to this clinic from the time of first discovery of clinical abnomality in the breast as per the Locally Advanced Breast Cancer referral criteria.
