In 2005, the Vancouver Island Centre expanded its research scope to bridge the gap between basic and clinical research by creating new translational research programs.
The Research Themes Program coordinated by the Vancouver Island Research & Development Advisory Committee (VIRAD) was launched with the goal of building on group strengths through large research group Themes.
