The BC Surgical Oncology Network (SON) exists to promote and advance quality cancer surgery throughout the province.
The SON includes all providers of surgical oncology services from surgeons in remote areas to sub-specialists.
SON's vision is that all cancer surgery patients in BC experience the best possible outcomes. This is made possible through the four committees that make up the network.
SON has 13 surgical tumour groups, whose purpose is to advise SON and the SON Council on the issues and challenges in their respective areas, to improve the surgical management of oncology patients.

A new Musculoskeletal Oncology Website (www.orthotumours.ca) has been launched.
This new website was developed by SON Musculoskeletal, Bone and Soft Tissue Surgical Group Chair Dr. Paul Clarkson, in partnership with clinical collaborators. This is an invaluable resource for medical students, residents, family physicians and other physicians without specialty expertise, and patients.
