Parking

Patients with cancer park for free
Paid parking is back at all hospital sites starting March 4, 2022. You can still park for free for appointments and tests related to your cancer treatment after this date.

To park for free at BC Cancer – Prince George, please go to the reception/screening desk and provide your licence plate number. You will be given a decal to place on your vehicle dashboard that you can use for all of your cancer treatment visits. Please do not pay for parking.

Where to park
Patient Parking stalls are available at the front of the building.

Street parking is available on Lethbridge Street and Edmonton Street.

Paid parking
If you are not onsite for cancer treatment, you will have to pay for parking. Parking is charged at hourly rates. Parking meters accept coins and credit cards only. They do not accept debit cards. You will need your licence plate number to pay for parking. 

Health and safety

The health and safety of our patients and employees is extremely important to us. Please do not visit if you have a fever and respiratory symptoms, or have been exposed to an infectious disease within the last two weeks. If you are a patient, please call your healthcare provider from home.

Smoke and scent-free environment

Smoking is not permitted in the buildings or on the grounds. This means that staff, patients, and visitors are not permitted to smoke on site. If you have questions about this policy, please email smokefree@phsa.ca.
 
In consideration of our patients and staff who have scent-related allergies, please do not wear perfume, scented hairspray, cologne, deodorant, aftershave or other scented products while visiting. Thank you for your co-operation.

Centre overview
Located in Prince George, adjacent to the University Hospital of Northern BC, BC Cancer – Prince George meets the needs of the residents of Northern BC.

BC Cancer – Prince George has been providing cancer care services in partnership with Northern Health since November 1, 2012. Combining the closer to home strategy with the "Northern Way of Caring" helps all members of the team work towards the goal of patient centred care when providing and transitioning services.

An environmental leader 

BC Cancer – Prince George was constructed to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold certification standards. 

Elements of the sustainable design include storm water management to reduce the building's impact on local sewer systems, a green roof to reduce the heat island effect of the building, secure bicycle storage and shower facilities to encourage staff to use alternative methods of transportation, interior and exterior lighting designed to minimized light pollution, and dust and dirt control during construction that minimized the impact of construction on the local sewer system and the surrounding neighbourhood. BC Cancer – Prince George is operated by a P3 partnership between Johnson Controls, BC Cancer, and Plenary Health. BC Cancer contracted Plenary Health to design, build, finance and maintain the new facility for 30 years.
