Parking

BC Cancer – Surrey is on the same site as Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH). There is pay parking at the locations below:

  • SMH North parkade at 96 Avenue, 137 Street and 137A Street entrances
  • SMH East parking lot at 138 Street and 96 Avenue
  • SMH South parkade at 138 Street and 94A Avenue
  • SMH West underground parkade King George Blvd and 96 Avenue (new Emergency & Critical Care Tower)
  • SMH Critical Care Tower Parking at King George Boulevard and 94A Avenue
Parking is charged at hourly or daily rates. Parking meters are also available on surrounding streets, and there are other parking facilities in the area, including the Lark Group Parkade located across the street (96 Avenue and 137 Street).

Discounted parking passes are available for long-term BC Cancer patients. To purchase a parking pass, you will need your BC Cancer appointment card. The minimum pass available is for 28 days up to 49 days. Passes are valid from the date of issue, are non-refundable and do not guarantee a parking spot. For more information regarding parking passes, rates, payment and conditions, please see a Greeter Volunteer or call 604-930-4022.

Health and safety

The health and safety of our patients and employees is extremely important to us. Please do not visit if you have a fever and respiratory symptoms, or have been exposed to an infectious disease within the last two weeks. If you are a patient, please call your healthcare provider from home.

Smoke and scent-free environment

Smoking is not permitted in the buildings or on the grounds. This means that staff, patients, and visitors are not permitted to smoke on site. If you have questions about this policy, please email smokefree@phsa.ca.
 
In consideration of our patients and staff who have scent-related allergies, please do not wear perfume, scented hairspray, cologne, deodorant, aftershave or other scented products while visiting. Thank you for your co-operation.

Centre overview
Located in Surrey, next to Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH), BC Cancer – Surrey meets the needs of the residents of the Fraser Valley.

Inaugurated in April 1995, BC Cancer – Surrey is committed to providing excellent care to our patients with the support of our staff, volunteers and healthcare partners. While BC Cancer – Surrey bases its approach on BC Cancer's provincial guidelines and mandate, it retains an exclusive culture specific to the catchment area served, the Fraser Valley.

BC Cancer – Surrey is an active research clinic contributing to knowledge generation done within the facility. Clinical trials are an extremely important aspect of our clinical care and our team is continually involved in a growing research program. For urgent health concerns, please call 604-930-2098 or toll-free (within BC) 1-800-523-2885 from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays).

If you have an urgent health concern outside of hours of operation, for emergencies relating to on-going treatment or if you are a physician requesting emergency oncology consultation, please call the Surrey Memorial Hospital switchboard at 604-581-2211 and ask for the Radiation or Medical Oncologist on call. If you are a patient, provide your BC Cancer patient ID number and the name of your treating oncologist to the operator.

If you are experiencing an emergency, always call 911.
 

BC Cancer – Surrey is connected to Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) which houses two bank machines; one in the SMH Cafeteria (North building) and the other in the SMH North Lobby (main entrance).

 

This recently established service at BC Cancer – Surrey sees patients living in the Fraser Health region, who have locally advanced breast cancer. Family physicians can refer patients to this clinic from the time of first discovery of clinical abnomality in the breast as per the Locally Advanced Breast Cancer referral criteria.

 

BC Cancer – Surrey is connected to Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) which houses a cafeteria (North building), Kidz Cafe (South building, main lobby) and a coffee stop (North building, main lobby). BC Cancer – Surrey is also very close to Tim Hortons, Dairy Queen, Knight & Day, and other restaurants like Starbucks and Subway, located in the City Centre building opposite SMH.

For change a radiation therapy appointment, call the Radiation Therapy Booking Desk at 604-930-4007; open 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays).
