The BC Cancer Foundation is the bridge that connects philanthropic support and research breakthroughs in cancer knowledge. As the fundraising partner of the BC Cancer Agency and the largest charitable funder of cancer research in this province, we enable donors to make contributions to leading-edge research that have a direct impact on improvements to cancer care for patients in British Columbia. We fund with the goal of finding solutions.
As an independent charitable organization, we raise funds exclusively for the BC Cancer Agency that go to supporting innovative cancer research and compassionate enhancements to patient care.
The BC Cancer Agency Fraser Valley Cancer Centre, located adjacent to Surrey Memorial Hospital was built to accommodate 2,500 patients per year. Currently, more than 3,300 patients are being referred to the Centre.
The BC Cancer Foundation has embarked on a $1 million fundraising campaign to help support the expansion and renovation of the Fraser Valley Centre – an expansion that will boost the Centre’s capacity, allowing it to meet the increasing demand for cancer treatment.
Plans are in place to help bring everything under one roof and expand capacity, but the help of the community is urgently needed to make this a reality.
Once completed, the expansion will bring patients:
8 more chemotherapy chairs, which means we'll have the ability to provide up to 4,300 more chemotherapy treatments.
An additional 13,000 Ambulatory Care Unit visits with additional examination rooms and stretchers.
A permanent home for all our researchers and clinicians.
