Learn how we can prevent cancer with proven strategies and policies across British Columbia.
Research shows that about 4 in 10 cancer cases can be prevented through healthy living behaviours and policies that support them. The Cancer Prevention Indicator Report, developed by BC Cancer and the BC Centre for Disease Control, looks at the most common risk factors for cancer and highlights policies and actions that can help reduce cancer risk across the province.
This report is a resource for everyone involved in health care and health promotion, including policymakers, program planners and community leaders.
- An overview of 8 cancer risk factors, including commercial tobacco, alcohol, UV radiation, and occupational and environmental exposures
