Provincial lung screening
program coming in 2022.
Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer death in Canada and worldwide, primarily affecting people age 50 and above. 70% of all lung cancers are currently diagnosed at an advanced stage, and when symptoms are already present.
A provincial lung cancer screening program has been announced that will mean more treatment options and a faster recovery for those that are at high risk of lung cancer.
The BC Lung Screening Trial is ongoing for those interested in participating in a study for high-risk lung screening.
