At BC Cancer, Dietitians play a specialized role in oncology care, combining clinical expertise with meaningful, long-term patient relationships. Working primarily in an outpatient setting, you support patients across their treatment journey while contributing to team-based care.
You also help patients navigate both the medical and personal aspects of nutrition, including its cultural and social importance. This creates a role where your impact is visible, both clinically and personally.
In this role, you will:
- Build strong relationships with patients throughout treatment and recovery
- Work in a collaborative interdisciplinary care team of Physicians, Nurses/Nurse Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals and administrative staff
- Promote culturally-safe and patient-centered care through collaboration with Indigenous Patient Navigators and patient and family partners
- Managing a diverse outpatient caseload, including complex nutritional needs such as tube feeding
- Incorporate cultural and social aspects of food into care plans
- See the direct impact of your work on patient outcomes
- Collaborate with Dietitians across BC Cancer regional centres as part of a diverse and supportive team
- Contribute to clinical projects that support advancements in patient care

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will have:- Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition, or equivalent, from an approved University and an accredited dietetic internship
- One (1) year of experience in clinical dietetics, with oncology experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to BC Cancer
- Current full registration as a Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and eligible for membership in Dietitians of Canada

On-site and remote work
Dietitian roles at BC Cancer are primarily on-site due to the nature of patient care. Some flexibility may exist, but arrangements vary by centre and operational needs.
