Punjabi Language Counselling

We provide mental health support to Punjabi-speaking patients of BC Cancer and their families.

​Who we serve  

Counselling in your own language can help you feel understood, supported and empowered. 

Punjabi counselling is available for: 

  • People with cancer and who speak Punjabi. We can support patients from the start of their diagnosis up to 18 months post-treatment  
  • Families, caregivers and loved ones of people affected by the cancer journey  

Types of counselling available 

Our Punjabi-speaking counsellor provides a safe and confidential space to talk about your feelings, challenges, and hopes—without language barriers. Sessions focus solely on concerns that are cancer related, and can include support for anxiety, depression, grief or family concerns. 

We offer: 

  • Individual counselling in Punjabi or English. Phone or virtual options available
  • Family or caregiver sessions 

Hours of operation  

The Punjabi-speaking counsellor is available Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Referral process  

Ask your BC Cancer health care provider to refer you or contact Patient and Family Counselling Services and request Punjabi language support.
