Refer a patient

The Rice family has donated funds to award a prize in memory of Betty Rice who was a lung cancer patient managed by Dr. Karen Gelmon. The annual prize of $1,500.00 is to be awarded to residents in thoracic surgery, radiation oncology or medical oncology or a master's or PhD candidate doing a research project in lung cancer.

Potential recipients should forward appropriate documentation of the lung cancer research project to the Chair of the Lung Tumor Group, Dr. Stephen Lam, by the deadline of February 28, by email (slam@bccancer.bc.ca). The selection will be made by April 1 by a committee consisting of Dr. Kevin Rice (Betty Rice’s son) and a multidisciplinary committee.
