At BC Cancer, nurses play an essential role in the care, treatment and education of cancer patients throughout the province. Using a patient-centred approach, these dedicated professionals maintain the highest standards of care and treatment. The support and information provided by oncology nurses extends to families and the community, who look to BC Cancer as an international leader in cancer care, treatment and research.
Registered Nurses work collaboratively with other members of the health care team, supporting patients with the highest standards of care and the latest, evidence-based treatment options. In addition, nurses have the opportunity to participate in a variety of research projects and clinical trials.
Oncology nurses are highly valued and respected members of our cancer care teams. BC Cancer supports oncology nurses with nurse orientation, continuing education opportunities, ongoing professional development, and certification programs.
