Who We Are

BC Cancer – Kelowna (Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre) provides a comprehensive cancer control program, for people who live in British Columbia, in partnership with Interior Health.

Community oncology network sites, operated by Interior Health, are located in Penticton, Grand Forks, Salmon Arm, Trail, Williams Lake, Cranbrook, Kamloops, Vernon, Nelson, and 100 Mile House.

BC Cancer – Kelowna is situated on the traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx/Okanagan People.

Supporting four satellite and seven community sites, serving a regional population of 750K, bringing care closer to home for many.Supporting four Satellite and seven community sites, serving a

Provincial leaders in high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy for breast, prostate and gynecological cancers.

Second in the province for clinical trials accruals.

Home to one of BC Cancer’s four PET/CT scanners, and Varian Ethos machine with adaptive radiotherapy.

What We Bring

Work with BC Cancer – Kelowna and have access to leading-edge technology and research in specialty treatments and services including:

The only cancer centre in B.C. to offer interstitial brachytherapy for gynecological cancers and high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR BT) for breast and prostate cancer.


B.C.’s only Research Chair in brachytherapy supports a new era of excellence in cancer research.

A participant in the Canadian Cancer Clinical Trials Network’s Canadian Remote Access Framework for Clinical Trials (CRAFT) to bring clinical trials close to home for patients in Trail and surrounding areas.

Kelowna is the first Canadian site to install and treat patients with a Ethos treatment machine. This state of the art machine enables the development of adaptive radiotherapy in B.C.
