BC Cancer – Abbotsford is situated on the shared unceded, traditional and ancestral territories of the Semá:th and Màthxwi  First Nations. These two First Nations are part of the Stό:lō Nation.

Hours of operation

Monday to Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
(excluding statutory holidays)

If you are calling outside of hours of operation and have an urgent problem related to your cancer and BC Cancer – Abbotsford is closed, call the Abbotsford Regional Hospital at 604-851-4710 and tell them you are a BC Cancer patient. The switchboard operator will contact either the on-call medical oncologist or radiation oncologist who will return your call.

If you are visiting the Abbotsford Regional Hospital emergency room outside of hours of operation, take a number, report directly to the triage nurse and tell them you are a BC Cancer patient.


Patients with cancer park for free
Paid parking is back at all hospital sites starting March 4, 2022. You can still park for free for appointments and tests related to your cancer treatment after this date.

To park for free at BC Cancer – Abbotsford, please register your licence plate with the parking attendant located inside the BC Cancer Entrance on Level 1, Sumas building. Please do not pay for parking.

Where to park
You can access the patient and visitor parking lot (map) from Marshall Road. The parking lot is next to the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre main entrance. This is the closest parking lot to the Sumas building, where BC Cancer – Abbotsford is located. There are many parking spots for people with disabilities by the main entrance. There is also a as a taxi waiting area. 

Paid parking
If you are not onsite for cancer treatment, you will have to pay for parking. Parking meters are inside each entrance to the building. They accept credit cards or cash (exact change only). Parking rates are on the parking meters. Tickets must be displayed if you want to leave the parking lot and come back.

Health and safety

The health and safety of our patients and employees is extremely important to us. Please do not visit if you have a fever and respiratory symptoms, or have been exposed to an infectious disease within the last two weeks. If you are a patient, please call your healthcare provider from home.

Smoke and scent-free environment

Smoking is not permitted in the buildings or on the grounds by staff, patients or visitors. If you have any questions about this policy, please email

Located in Abbotsford, BC Cancer – Abbotsford is integrated within the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre; a partnership of Fraser Health and the Provincial Health Services Authority.

BC Cancer – Abbotsford opened its doors to patients for the first time on August 25th, 2008. While BC Cancer – Abbotsford bases its approach on BC Cancer's provincial guidelines and mandate, it retains an exclusive culture specific to the catchment area served, the Eastern Fraser Valley.

Call the Abbotsford Nursing Telephone Care Line at 604-870-7470 or toll-free (within BC) 1-877-547-3777 ext. 647470 to speak with a registered nurse between the hours of 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Between the hours of 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm, please call your physician’s medical secretary at the number on the inside of your appointment card.

For urgent concerns after hours, weekends and stats, call the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre at 604-851-4700, then dial “0” or state "operator".

Yes, there is a bank machine available in the main atrium (cash withdrawals only).

If you have an urgent problem related to your cancer and the centre is closed, call the Abbotsford Regional Hospital at 604-851-4700 and tell them you are a BC Cancer – Abbotsford patient. The switchboard operator will contact either the on-call medical oncologist or radiation oncologist who will return your call.

Please note, if you report to the Abbotsford Regional Hospital emergency room in person, take a number and report directly to the triage nurse. Tell them you are a BC Cancer – Abbotsford patient.

The Artichokes restaurant is located on Level 1 and is open from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, seven days a week. Cash, debit and credit are all accepted. Vending machines with snacks and drinks are also located outside the cafeteria and can take bills.

To change an appointment, call the Appointment Booking Desk at 604-851-4710 ext. 645301 during the hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

To change a radiation therapy appointment, please call the radiation booking desk at 604-851-4706 during the hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
