Survivorship & Primary Care

Survivorship is a key component of the cancer care continuum. It is the link between treatment and recovery and between the patient, the cancer agency, and their primary care team.
Survivorship resources and services are intended to help a person cope with their new normal, while also ensuring their health care providers have the education, tools, and resources they require to provide high quality care to cancer survivors.
Resources

We produce many survivorship and primary care resources, including a magazine, an email newsletter, academic publications and videos from our past forums.

For patients:

Survivorship Nurse Practitioners provide primary health care for people with a cancer diagnosis who do not have a family doctor.

See the Life after Cancer section for information for patients and those who care for them.

For primary care providers:

The Family Practice Oncology Network provides oncology education, training and clinical practice guidelines for primary care providers.

The monthly e-newsletter share information about survivorship-related research, resources, workshops and events. Our audience is health care providers and researchers.
