Library

Delivering timely service and evidence-informed resources to people in BC and the Yukon facing cancer, and those involved in oncology care or research.
Public & Patients

All BC Cancer Libraries sites and Cancer Information Centres are closed until further notice.

The physical lending of books, journals and AV material is temporarily halted, and all currently loaned items have their due dates extended until Apr. 21, 2020.

Healthcare does not stop and  neither does the library.  We continue to support patients and staff,  providing reference, research , document delivery,  and more from a virtual platform, and are monitoring our email and phones during our regular Monday-Friday hours of operation.

Patients and families can also contact us through our new Information Request Form

Thank you for your support and understanding during this temporary closure.

Collections

Search our catalogue to find books, videos, ebooks, and audio material held in any of our six locations.

Information Requests
If you live in BC or the Yukon, you can request cancer information from the BC Cancer Library. Choose to have your information sent to you by mail or email, or pick it up in person at the cancer centre nearest to you.

Questions? Contact a regional librarian by phone or in person for more information.

BC Cancer Staff

Services for BC Cancer Staff and Physicians

The BC Cancer Library offers library and information services, including document delivery, literature searches and systematic reviews, and individual and group training, to all BC Cancer staff and physicians. BC Cancer staff and physicians should contact their local librarian for individual assistance.

BC Cancer staff and physicians are encouraged to use the internal website Library Links to access the Library’s online information sources. You must be on a BC Cancer computer for access. CRC staff have access to Library Links via their local intranet: my.bccrc.ca.

Library Links provides staff with access to practice tools and information resources: ejournals; ebooks; Refworks; online databases, including MEDLINE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, EMBASE, Natural Medicines, Lexicomp, the Cochrane Library and more.
The Full Text Finder database will help connect you to library ejournals and ebooks.

Staff must be using a network computer in order to access these eresources.  Contact the Library to obtain information about offsite access.

BC Cancer staff can also connect to full text articles when doing searches in PubMed. Contact the Library for instructions or consult Library Links for further information

Contact the Library Document Delivery service for help obtaining journal articles, books, book chapters or other resources.
