If you live in BC or Yukon, you can request cancer information from the BC Cancer Library. Choose to have your information sent to you by mail or email, or pick it up in person at the cancer centre nearest to you.

Questions? Contact a regional librarian by phone or in person for more information.

Pathfinders

See our pathfinders for lists  of librarian recommended books, ebooks, pamphlets, support services and websites on many types of cancer and support topics.

Resources found in these Pathfinders have been chosen and evaluated by BC Cancer librarians with input from other BC Cancer staff members. Suggestions for additional resources for inclusion are welcome; however, the Library reserves the final right to decide which websites and resources will be included. See our Inclusion/removal policy.

Resources  are reviewed on a regular basis, however, the Library cannot guarantee the function, accuracy, or currency of the websites and the information contained within them. Please read BC Cancer's Terms of Use for further information.

BC Cancer Staff

Services for BC Cancer Staff and Physicians

The BC Cancer Library offers  information services, including document delivery, literature searches, individual and group training, online access to evidence-based resources and tools, and much more to all BC Cancer staff and physicians.  Explore what we can do for you and your patients in our Library Infographic,  check out the newest eBook arrivals in our November 2022 Library Newsletter, or contact your local librarian for individual assistance.

Staff members are encouraged to refer patients to the library, and have them contact the library through library@bccancer.bc.ca or our the Information Request Form.

Library Portal Resources

Our Library Portal website (formerly called the Staff Guide) provides BC Cancer staff access to a wealth of online practice and evidence-based medicine tools and information resources. Find topic guides, online resources such as ejournals, ebooks, RefWorks, and online databases - including Medline, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Natural Medicines, Lexicomp, the Cochrane Database - and much more.

Staff must be using a network computer or Citrix (if working remotely) in order to access most of the online database eresources.   Contact the Library or visit the Library Portal to obtain information about offsite access.

The library's Document Delivery service is also available to help you obtain journal articles, books, book chapters or other resources.
