Satnam Sidhu is a clinical coordinator, Oncology Nutrition at BC Cancer – Victoria. She is the winner of this year's BC Cancer Excellence Award in the category of Patient Care Champion, nominated by staff.
A Patient Care Champion is a staff member or physician who helps improve patients' experience, quality of life, quality of care and/or knowledge of the cancer system – either directly or indirectly. They show compassion, ingenuity and leadership, an act as a role model for others.
Satnam Sidhu is recognized by her colleagues for her exceptional leadership and commitment to patient care.
As a clinical dietitian and coordinator, Satnam consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that each patient receives personalized and evidence-based nutrition therapy, reflecting her genuine care and dedication to their well-being.
Satnam is well respected for her extensive contributions to the fields of clinical nutrition, patient-centered research, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to improving the well-being of both patients and staff.

As co-chair of the BC Cancer-Victoria Indigenous Cultural Safety Committee, Satnam has been instrumental in creating a culturally safe space for Indigenous patients and their families. Her efforts to promote understanding and respect for Indigenous experiences have led to a more welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all patients seeking care at BC Cancer-Victoria.
