Starting March 8, 2022, our digital agent on bccancer.bc.ca will give BC Cancer – Victoria patients the option to chat online with one of our nurses. Our nurses will be able to answer questions about cancer care and point patients in the right direction if more information is needed.

This service is available on weekdays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Originally launched in 2020, BC Cancer's digital agent has answers to many of your common questions about cancer and COVID-19 using information from BC Cancer, the BC Centre for Disease Control and Province of BC.

This pilot project is one of the ways we are leveraging digital technology to better serve our patients and their families. If successful, this new online support will be rolled out to BC Cancer patients across the province.

Go to bccancer.bc.ca and type your question into the pop up chat box. If the digital agent can't answer your question, it will connect you with a nurse who can help.

We would like to thank Paul Smeltzer (patient partner) and Dale Hunt (family partner) for their collaboration and contribution to the design of this service.
