Scope, Purpose and Target Audience:
The purpose of this overview is to:
- Provide a summary of current knowledge with regards to staging, risk factors, and diagnostic techniques of sarcomas for health care professionals in British Columbia
- Provide an overview of typical practice at BC Cancer.
Sarcomas are rare tumours and should be diagnosed and treated at a center with an experienced multidisciplinary sarcoma team which should include specialists from surgical oncology, radiation oncology, medical oncology, pathology and diagnostic imaging to ensure optimum management.
