Award winners

Patient Care Champion, patient nominated

Robbie KhunKhun & David Ling
Clerk & licesnsed practical nurse
BC Cancer - Surrey

“I was shaking so much I could barely speak. Robbie was one of the people at the check in desk who spotted me and the trouble I was in and got up from his desk to help me. He was perceptive, intuitive and had that soothing touch. We sat down together. Robbie listened to my concerns and wrote down the ways in which I could get some immediate help for my fragile condition. I felt as though he had just saved my life. I returned to the cancer clinic for my first radiation treatment. David Ling was there and immediately responded to my need for help, and walked me to the radiation check-in desk and stayed with me until I was sure I was in the right place. Later I thought how lucky I was to run into these to amazing people when I desperately needed support and how fortunate the Surrey cancer centre is to have them as employees."
